Debris Management Informational Flyers
If you receive an informational flyer like the one in the picture, 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. It is intended to help you better understand why you still have a pile of debris in front of your home.
In most cases, the debris is not separated properly or cannot be removed because it is in a NO PICKUP ZONE.
Code Enforcement has only placed these on homes that have debris piles that do not meet the guidelines for removal from Fort Bend County. Those with piles who do, please continue to be patient.
The county 𝐇𝐀𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓 started picking up construction debris yet and we do not know when they will.
Fore more information, click HERE.
Thank you for your patience throughout this process.

UPDATE: County Debris Collection
According to the messaging in the picture below, debris trucks should be in Meadows Place today. We believe they are still making passes to get the final vegetative debris. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬. They will be back for construction-related materials (fences).
– Separate debris based on previously shared guidelines and guidelines below
– Make sure debris piles are not near mailboxes, structures or power lines
– Keep roadways clear so large trucks can navigate our roadways and access debris
Thank you for your patience!

UPDATE: County Debris Collection
Yesterday, the topic of debris collection was discussed at Fort Bend County Commissioners Court. We have included a link below that will jump you into the video at the start of the discussion.
Essentially, County debris collection crews are still performing the vegetative debris collection phase. They will continue doing sweeps of areas, including Meadows Place, to remove any remaining vegetative debris before moving onto other materials.
Currently, they do not anticipate getting to construction debris materials (fences) for about 3 weeks. We understand this is not the timeline residents would like and we ask for your patience as the cleanup continues. Please continue to keep debris separated and in the right-of-way, not in the streets, until County crews can collect the remaining debris.
Please adhere to all guidelines previously shared. Be certain, your piles are accessible (remember, a claw truck must be able to access them) and they are properly separated.
Code enforcement will not be giving warnings for dead landscaping caused by debris piles in the right-of-way.
Again, thank you for your patience as we continue to recover from the effects of Beryl.

1.83 Miles of Washing Machines?!
We have received our first report from the County on the amount of debris collected from Meadows Place since Sunday, July 14th.
Check out these numbers:
County crews have picked up 78 loads of debris, that equals 3,221.5 cubic yards.
To give you a sense of scale, a standard washing machine is roughly one cubic yard in volume (3 feet high, 3 feet wide, and 3 feet deep). If we lined up that many washing machines side-by-side, they would stretch 1.83 miles. Dorrance Ln., at approximately 1.6 miles long, would come just short of holding them all.
If you still have debris, we aren’t sure when County crews will be back in Meadows Place, but they will be back. We also have not received an update on when they will be collecting other types of debris.
Thank you for your patience as debris and trash are being collected.

Texas Pride Disposal Service Update
From Texas Pride Disposal:
We are happy to say that we will begin collecting both trash and recycling as regularly scheduled this week.
Garbage crews will be collecting household garbage and a maximum of 3 bags of yard waste (grass clippings/leaves/hedge trimmings). No storm debris or heavy trash will be collected. To better assist the crews and limit confusion, please try to have yard waste in clear plastic bags and/or the heavy-duty paper lawn & refuse bags and if possible, separate it from your storm debris.
Texas Pride Disposal will not collect storm debris as part of normal trash collection or heavy trash collection. Please reach out to your City or County for further information regarding storm debris collection.

A Message to Residents from Mayor St. Germain
We are exactly one week past Hurricane Beryl. It’s safe to say this storm took the region by surprise. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for this community filled with people ready to help each other. I’ve watched you open your homes to neighbors as power outages persisted, cook and feed each other, check in on your loved ones and acquaintances, volunteer to clean out refrigerators for those unable, clear debris from storm drains, cut down fallen trees, and pick up your neighbor’s yard. I’m sure there are a million more ways you’ve served each other that went unseen. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Additionally, I have had the opportunity to watch our City staff and council weather a crisis. We are so fortunate to have a team of people who work tirelessly to care for the needs of each resident. Every single staff member went above and beyond the call of duty to assess needs and problem solve. Their unwavering commitment is nothing short of inspiring. I am proud to have them by my side and at the ready.
At this time, we have two stretches of homes without power and large debris piles down every street. We are actively working with CenterPoint, the county, and Texas Pride Disposal to take care of these challenges. Please review the information we’ve provided on our website and all social media outlets regarding debris to be sure you don’t get missed. I am asking for your patience. We are one community nestled in a whole region of the state experiencing identical challenges. Power will be restored. The debris and trash will be cleared from our yards.
We are proud, caring, and resilient Meadows Place residents. We will weather this and the next one, together.

Please be sure you are adhering to the guidelines so they can collect your material. We have shared info in several other posts, here is some of that:
“In order to recycle as many materials as possible, residents are asked to separate disaster debris into the following piles:
• Construction and Demolition Materials
• Electronic Waste
• Household Hazardous Waste
• White Goods
• Vegetative materials (trees, limbs, brush, leaves, etc.)
DO NOT MIX OR PLACE NORMAL HOUSEHOLD TRASH WITH STORM DEBRIS CURBSIDE
Normal Household Trash – normal household waste, recyclables and bagged debris of any kind will not be collected with your storm debris. Please continue to follow the your normal garbage removal schedule.
Please note that this operation is ONLY for disaster debris. Please do not attempt to place garbage or other household refuse with the disaster debris, as it will not be accepted, and will delay your storm debris collections. Regular trash removal services in the community will continue as scheduled.
Please place the debris piles at the curb in the public right-of-way (not in ditches) in front of your home or business as soon as possible. Please do not block any public utility such as fire hydrants, water valves, road signs, etc. If properly separated, it will be picked up by crews.”

Storm Repair Permit Fees Waived
The Mayor, along with Council and City Staff, have elected to waive 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦-𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐬 through September 1, 2024. Residents must provide proof that the repairs being done are storm-related. The waived permit fee 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝. If the work being done requires an inspection, the inspection will still need to be completed.
We understand most of the repairs being done are to damaged roofs and fences. Keep in mind, fence repairs only need a permit if more than 50% of your fence is being replaced or repaired.
We hope this helps our residents recover more quickly from Beryl.
