The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the City’s ledger and financial systems. This includes maintaining reports of City revenues, including sales tax, franchise, advalorem taxes and daily reconciliation of revenues. Vendor payments and accurate posting of those transactions are also a function of Finance. Maintaining budget spreadsheets, assisting in the budget process and ultimately preparing for and validating the annual audit are integral functions of this department.
FINANCIAL POLICY MANAGEMENT STATEMENTS The Financial Management Policy is a new document for the City consolidating various financial policies into one place. The document describes the budget process, budget amendments, revenues and expenditures, capital expenditures, debt service and financing, cash management, and establishes guidelines for financial management that are realized in the annual financial audit report. City Council approved Resolution 2023-06 adopting Meadows Place Financial Management Policy on March 28, 2023.
