National Night Out 2024

October 1, 2024

What: National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.

When: Tuesday, October 1st | 6 PM to 8 PM

Where: Neighbors get together and hold parties around our community. Along with the traditional outside lights and front porch vigils, Meadows Place celebrates National Night Out with  citywide block parties and cookouts.

Host a Party: Hosting a National Night Out party is a great way to bring neighbors together and get to know your police officers and Council Representatives. To register a National Night Out party, please contact Meadows Place PD at 281-983-2900 or email police@cityofmeadowsplace.org. This will put your party on the circuit to ensure you will receive a visit from an officer, a Councilperson, or the Mayor. Hosting a party is fun – have one!

Texas Pride Disposal – Guidelines Fact Sheet

TRASH COLLECTION DAYS: TUESDAY  &  FRIDAY
RECYCLE COLLECTION DAY: FRIDAY
HEAVY TRASH PICKUP DAY: FRIDAY

  • As a reminder, trash/recycling should not be put out for collection before 12 pm on the day before regular collections.
  • Please have trash/recycling out at curb by 6 am each pick up day.
  • Additionally, empty empty recycling bins and trash cans should be promptly removed from curbside after pickup. Trash, trash cans, recycling bins, or rubbish should not be visible from street.
  • Holiday Schedule: New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. In the event that your service day falls on a holiday, collection will roll to the next regularly scheduled collection day.

Garbage/Trash Guidelines

  • Household Trash: Texas Pride will collect residential refuse located at the curbside; refuse must be either in containers or bags not weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Yard Waste: Trees, shrubs, brush trimmings and fencing must be bundled in lengths no greater than 4 feet, not to exceed 50 pounds with no branch diameter exceeding 3 inches. The bundling is required to allow quick pickup and size limitations are required to avoid damaging the equipment in the crushing process.
  • Heavy Trash and Bulk Waste: All residential waste materials except tree and yard waste must be either in containers, bags or bundles not exceeding 50 pounds.
Items such as appliances, furniture, carpet (up to 1 room, rolled up four feet wide and less than fifty pounds), cardboard boxes (flattened), will be picked up either day.
By Federal Law, refrigerators and freezers or any other items containing Freon must be drained of Freon and have an accompanying bill to validate such service was performed.

Items excluded from normal collection are: dirt, rocks, bricks, concrete, tires, batteries, motor oil, cooking oil, waste generated by a private contractor or any materials or items deemed hazardous materials. WCA will leave a tag explaining the reason for non-collected item(s).

Other than normal amounts of residential refuse, yard trimmings or bulk items, if notified in advance, Texas Pride will meet with a resident prior to collection day to determine a price. If a resident does not notify Texas Pride of such a special pick-up before its scheduled day, then Texas Pride will leave a notice for the resident to contact Contractor during normal office hours before the next scheduled pick up day.

Texas Pride will clean up any spillage that occurs during the collection or recycling process,  however, if gasoline, motor oil, paints, cooking oil, or any other liquid items in a container that is not visible results in spillage that causes a stain, Texas Pride cannot be held responsible.

If you have any questions or need more information, please contact City Hall, (281) 983-2950

Recycling Guidelines

  • Newspaper: Includes the newspaper itself and any glossy inserts that are included with your Sunday paper. Please do not include other types of paper. Papers should not be tied or strapped together. If the newspaper volume is such that the bin does not provide ample space, you may place the newspaper in a brown paper bag and set it next to your bin.
  • Plastic: Plastic bottles and jugs that are marked with a No. 1 or No. 2 recycling logo. This includes milk and water jugs, soda bottles, etc. Please remove caps and rinse the containers. There is no need to remove labels.
  • Aluminum Beverage Cans: Please rinse empty cans. Crushing the cans will provide additional space for other materials in your recycling bin.
  • Bi-Metal Cans: This includes your food (tin) cans. Please rinse empty cans. There is no need to remove labels.
  • Recycle Bins: Please only use the recycle bins provided by the City of Meadows Place for recyclable materials, not as an extra trash container. Note: the recycle bins provided are the property of the City of Meadows Place.
