This past weekend, our Meadows Place Youth Action Council (YAC) took a trip to Galveston to help clean up the beaches as part of the Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach Program! 🏖️ Led by our Parks and Recreation Coordinator, Carolyn Whitlow, along with another adult chaperone, 8 students headed out early Saturday morning. Together, they collected bottles, soda cans, plastic bags, and even two small nets. We’re so proud of their efforts and how they represented Meadows Place with dedication and teamwork!
The students learned that it doesn’t take much to make a difference—and discovered something new: 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐥𝐞? We’re glad you asked! Nurdles are tiny plastic pellets, the raw material used to make almost everything plastic. Unfortunately, millions of these pellets can escape into the environment during transport and manufacturing.
