Over the past year and a half, our wells have gone through rehabilitation. Meadows Place water is provided by three wells located in the City. Well 3 received the first rehab in 2022 and this year we completed rehab on Wells 1 and 2. As you will see in the graphic, each one has different needs. The wells are 40 years old and needed attention. Going forward, each well will receive regular maintenance to help prevent the need for such large repairs. Our well work and other capital projects can all be seen in our Capital Improvement Plan.
All this repair and maintenance on the wells was paid for with funds from the City’s Utility Fund. The Utility Fund is made up of money received from fees collected on utility bills. The total cost of the rehabilitation of all the wells was $764,622.75.
