Work has been underway on the Wastewater Treatment Plant Clarifier Rehabilitation Project. Crews are about halfway complete installing 16 new slide gates. These gates are used to control and divert the flow throughout the plant, which in turn allows isolation of sections of the plant for regular maintenance.
The scope of the entire project includes replacing much of the equipment, including controls, traveling bridge, sensors, drive motors, slide gates, actuators and other apparatus while upgrading to a modern plant designed to provide many more years of service.
As we continue with the project, these gates are vital when we replace the traveling bridge assembly. Without the new gates, the project would not be able to be completed.
Funding for this project is coming from City Funds and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds received by the City. The total cost is approximately $3,950,000.
