The Chicken Research Committee consisted of Meadows Place residents- Charles Kulhanek(Chairman), Cinda English, Katie North, David Cosby, Chris Peek and Mary Milner.  I thank them for all the research and hard work they put in on our behalf.

As Mayor, I reminded both the Committee, and the Council, that these results were non-binding and are but one of many matters to be taken into consideration when Council deliberates whether or not to pass an ordinance regarding laying hens in Meadows Place.

The committee recommendations were: 4 in favor of allowing laying hens in Meadows Place; 1 against; and 1 in favor of the city not addressing the issue at all since deed restrictions currently cover the topic.  The recommendations to Council included several restrictions as well.
