Meadows Place residents really stepped up to show their appreciation during National Police Appreciation Week. One way they did that was to provide hot home-cooked meals and snacks for every shift for the entire week. Smiles all around as residents delivered the meals or opened their homes up to the officers at mealtime, even the officers working the late shifts. One batch of home -made cookies delivered to Meadows Place Police Department were decorated like police cars, handcuffs, finger prints, badges and even pistols….all VERY tasty. Police Chief Gary Stewart said his officers were “overwhelmed by the outpouring of appreciation and respect shown by the residents of Meadows Place”. He said “this has been a very special week” which included a great turnout at the Neighborhood Watch meeting. The Friday night meal was very special as the Meadows Place Youth Action Council (YAC) invited on duty officers to break bread with them in a show of support and appreciation. AS one resident said “This was a great way to say’ Thank You’ to all the men and women of the Meadows Place Police Force – we appreciate all you do for us.”
