10/02/24 Kenzie Ct.

  • Overnight, two unknown persons broke into the resident’s work van, it was parked on the street and several tools removed (unknown serial numbers).
  • The incident was captured on the resident’s surveillance video, but was not of quality to identify the suspects, suspect’s vehicle or LP.
  • Property Value: $4,450
  • Investigation Status: Suspended

10/18/24 Brook Meadows Ln. 

  • Overnight, unknown persons broke out the driver’s front window of the resident’s work van parked on the street, entered and removed several tools (unknown serial numbers).
  • The resident’s ring camera did not capture anything, but the camera across the street did capture a vehicle with no LP or identifying information.
  • Property/Damage Estimate: $3,100
  • Investigation Status: Suspended 

Burglary – Business/Commercial (2) (Up 1 from previous month)

09/25/24 Old Vroom Building

  • Officer found a suspicious unattended vehicle in the alley.
  • Upon investigation, he heard a person running inside the building.
  • A perimeter was set up with the assistance of Stafford PD, but no subjects were located.
  • It was found that copper wiring was being stolen from a breaker box inside the building, and the suspect left tools.
  • No video surveillance was found, but some possible forensic evidence was acquired.
  • Property Value: $15,000
  • Investigation Status: Open
  • A person of interest has been developed

 10/01/24 Old Vroom Building

  • The owner found that a second instance of person(s) unknown stealing copper wire occurred.
  • The suspect(s) cut power to the building, and therefore disabled the alarm.
  • No video surveillance was found, but some possible forensic evidence was acquired.
  • Property Value: $29,000
  • Investigation Status: Open

 10/01/24 Sterling McCall

  • Officer noticed a damaged gate to the property.
  • Video surveillance showed an SUV ram the gate, the driver got out and looked, then got back in and drove away.
  • The video did not capture the LP.
  • Damage Estimate: $2,500
  • Investigation Status: Suspended

10/08/24 Level Run St.

  • The resident found that overnight unknown persons forced open the breaker box on the outside of her house.
  • The frame was bent, and no other damage was found.
  • There was no surveillance video or forensic evidence found.
  • Damage Estimate: $100
  • Investigation Status: Suspended

10/18/24 River Meadow Ln.

  • While on patrol Officer found a window broken out on a work van parked on the street at a residence.
  • The resident stated nothing appeared to be missing.
  • The resident has a surveillance video but could not access it at the time.
  • There was no forensic evidence or area surveillance video found.
  • Damage Estimate: $500
  • Investigation Status: Open

  • Citizen reported an unauthorized ATM withdrawal.
  • The citizen has since frozen that account.
  • Video surveillance yielded no suspects.
  • Value: $143.50

10/14/24 O’Reilly *Also listed in “Arrests”

  • Loss Prevention found that an employee has been making unauthorized refunds and transferring them to his personal account.
  • The employee admitted this to the officers.
  • After consulting with the DA’s office, the employee was arrested and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail.
  • Value: $3,000

09/30/2024 Northern Tool *Power Tools

  • Two males left the store with power tools without paying.
  • A surveillance video from Cabo Bob’s captured the suspect’s vehicle’s LP.
  • The vehicle did not pass by any Flock cameras.
  • Property Value: $824
  • Investigation Status: Open

  • A male left the store with a power tool without paying.
  • There was no video surveillance of the incident.
  • Property Value: $199.98
  • Investigation Status: Suspended

10/05/2024 CVS *Detergent

  • An employee who was outside saw a male and female run out of the store and leave.
  • The employee then watched video and verified they did not pay for several detergent items.
  • The video did capture the vehicle, but the employee cannot identify the suspects.
  • Property Value: $94.64
  • Investigation Status: Open

10/11/2024 Walgreens *Cosmetics (also listed in “Arrests”)                                           

  • Officers were dispatched to a Theft in progress.
  • Upon arrival, a female suspect was inside the store with concealed items, which she then put back.
  • The subject was interviewed and found to have a warrant out of West University Place.
  • Outside the store, while detaining the subject, two additional pieces of cosmetics from the store were found.
  • The subject was issued a citation for Theft, and then transported to meet West University PD to transfer her to their custody.

10/07/2024 Aldi’s

  • A customer who had shopped at Aldi’s arrived home in Houston, and found her purse was missing.
  • It had been in her shopping cart, and she doesn’t know if it was taken from there, or from her car when she put the shopping cart away.
  • When she reported this to her credit card company, she found that approximately $7,000 had already been charged on it.
  • Property Value: $235

10/07/24 SW Freeway Feeder *Driving While Intoxicated

  • Officer stopped a vehicle for reckless driving.
  • The driver was uncooperative and showed signs of intoxication.
  • After investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail.
  • There was no intoxilyzer operator available, so no breath sample was given.

10/08/24 W. Airport Blvd. *Driving While Intoxicated w/Child Passenger

  • Officer responded to a disturbance, and found one of the parties had been driving and showed signs of intoxication. A child under 15 years of age had been in the vehicle.
  • After a DWI investigation was completed, the subject was arrested and transported to Fort Bend Co. Jail.
  • Breath BAC Results: 192 and 0.192

  • Officers were dispatched to a Theft in progress.

10/13/2024 SW Freeway Feeder *Driving While Intoxicated/Warrant Other Jurisdiction/Possession of Controlled Substance

  • Officer found a vehicle stopped in a moving lane, with the driver asleep at the wheel.
  • After investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated and had a warrant out of Harris Co. for DWI (which enhanced our DWI charge).
  • The driver was arrested and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail.
  • At the Jail, a detailed search found a small bag of white powder, which later tested positive for Cocaine. The charge of PCS was added. 

10/14/24 O’Reilly *Fraud (also listed in “Fraud”)

  • Loss Prevention found that an employee has been making unauthorized refunds and transferring them to his personal account.
  • The employee admitted this to the officers.
  • After consulting with the DA’s office, the employee was arrested and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail.

Notable Information:

On 09/23/2024 Sgt. Kenig attended the sentencing hearing for MPPD Case#2202061502 – Sexual Assault of a Child.  This case was from February 2022.

  • Former MPPD Det. Bruce Campbell testified at this hearing.
  • The Suspect plead guilty to Sexual Assault of a Child (two counts) and Sexual Abuse of a Child Continuous.
  • The Suspect was sentenced to life for Sexual Abuse of a Child – Continuous, and 40 years for both Sexual Assaults of a Child.

The ADA for Fort Bend County was pleased and thankful for MPPD showing support for the victim and family.
