National Night Out 2024


October 1, 2024

What: National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.

When: Tuesday, October 1st | 6 PM to 8 PM

Where: Neighbors get together and hold parties around our community. Along with the traditional outside lights and front porch vigils, Meadows Place celebrates National Night Out with  citywide block parties and cookouts.

Host a Party: Hosting a National Night Out party is a great way to bring neighbors together and get to know your police officers and Council Representatives. To register a National Night Out party, please contact Meadows Place PD at 281-983-2900 or email police@cityofmeadowsplace.org. This will put your party on the circuit to ensure you will receive a visit from an officer, a Councilperson, or the Mayor. Hosting a party is fun – have one!

Assault (4) (Up 3 from previous month)

08/29/24 Sterling McCall

  • A female employee was assaulted by a female subject regarding a domestic dating situation involving a male employee. The suspect then left the scene.
  • The victim received cuts and bruises.
  • The incident was captured on video.
  • CID was called to the scene and completed their investigation.
  • Investigation Status: Case submitted to the DA’s office for charges.

08/30/24 MPPD Office

  • A juvenile reported that during a recent CAC interview, she denied a sexual assault by contact by a family member occurred a year ago.
  • She now states the assault did occur, and her mother coerced her to deny it.
  • The juvenile also now states her mother recently physically assaulted her.
  • The Fort Bend DA and CPS are involved in this investigation.
  • Investigation Status: Open

09/01/24 Wallis Bank

  • A male was driving a female friend, and an argument ensued.
  • The vehicle pulled into the Wallis Bank parking lot, where the female exited, and began to run toward W. Airport.
  • The vehicle exited, turned right onto W. Airport, and struck the female as she crossed the street, causing minor injuries.
  • The victim was transported to St. Lukes by FBEMS and was treated and released.
  • CID responded to the scene and hospital.
  • Surveillance cameras from Murphy’s and Wallis captured the incident.
  • Investigation Status: Case submitted to the Fort Bend DA for charges.

09/11/24 Amblewood Dr.

  • A wrecker picked up a vehicle in a residential driveway for legal repossession.
  • The residents came out and a verbal disturbance ensued, which escalated to a wrecker operator being hit in the face by a resident.
  • When units arrived, the residents refused to come out of the home, and units eventually left the scene.
  • Investigation Status: Open

BMV (3) (Up 2 from previous month) (2 commercial – 1 residential)

09/09/24 Murphy Express

  • While a customer was in the business, a vehicle parked next to theirs, and an unknown person got out and broke out a passenger window and removed cash, and then drove away.
  • Video surveillance captured the incident and yielded a vehicle make / model, but no license plate.
  • Property Value/Damage Estimate: $400
  • Investigation Status: Suspended

09/13/2024 Sam’s Club

  • A citizen loaded their vehicle with purchases, walked away to put their shopping cart up, and returned to find the vehicle’s passenger side window broken out, and her purse missing. There was no witness, forensic evidence or surveillance video found.
  • Her cell phone location finder later showed at an address in Houston.
  • Property Value/Damage Estimate: $2,180
  • Investigation Status: Open

09/16/24 Dorrance Ln.

  • The resident and a friend work on restoring cars at his residence.
  • The resident found his friend had removed parts from one vehicle while he was gone that they had not discussed, with damage occurring in the process.
  • Property Value/Damage Estimate: $9,920
  • Investigation Status: Open

Burglary – Business/Commercial (1) (Up 1 from previous month)

09/20/24 Cabo Bob’s

  • At or around 0219 hours, a masked person broke the front door to the business and ransacked the office, while another subject waited outside. The subject turned off the power, and nothing was taken.
  • Video surveillance captured the crime and may be clear enough to make an identification of the subject inside if found. No vehicle was viewed.
  • The crime was detected by a delivery truck around 0300 hours, and there was a delay in MPPD receiving the call as it first went to Harris County Sheriff Office.
  • Property Damage: $1,600

09/03/24 Demia Ct.

  • Sometime during the day unknown person(s) turned off the power to the home, broke out a back window, and entered and stole two pistols and numerous expensive purses and hats.
  • A suspicious vehicle and person were seen at the home earlier by a nearby lawn maintenance worker.
  • CID arrived and processed the scene, finding no usable evidence. The weapons were entered into TLETS as stolen.
  • Area video was found but is not of quality for identification.
  • A check of Flock has yielded a vehicle of interest.
  • Property value: $13,800

09/14/24 Meadow Hollow Dr.

  • A resident whose wallet was stolen from his vehicle broken into in Houston, in June, reports that his bank advised him of fraudulent checks being issued.
  • This appears to be a duplicate report to MPPD, since the resident already reported this to HPD and received a case number.
  • Investigation Status: Suspended

09/02/24 Quiet Meadow Dr.

  • Two residents parked in front of their home, and while walking to their door were approached from behind by and unknown masked male.
  • They were directed into the home, hit from behind, and then directed to the floor.
  • There were two other residents in the home that were also directed to the floor.
  • The suspect went upstairs and ransacked the bedrooms, and then left the residence.
  • Neighbors’ cameras captured the vehicle and suspect, but not quality enough to make identifications.
  • A Flock search yielded the probable vehicle.
  • Property Value: $2,935 Cash and a Necklace
  • Investigation Status: Open

09/10/24 Murphy Express

  • On 09/09/24 overnight, a vehicle arrived at the business and proceeded to remove water and firewood that were stacked outside.
  • On 09/10/24 overnight, the same vehicle returned and removed various vehicle fluid containers that were stacked outside.
  • Both crimes were captured on surveillance video, which yielded a vehicle description with no license plate, and descriptions of the suspects which could not lead to identification.
  • Property Value: $2013.35 ($196.39 & $1,816.96)
  • Investigation Status: Suspended

09/02/24 S. Kirkwood Rd. *Warrant Other Jurisdiction

  • Officer stopped a vehicle for an license plate violation.
  • The driver was found to have 4 confirmed warrants out of Missouri City PD.
  • The driver was issued several warning citations, and then a field transfer of the driver to MPPD was conducted.

09/03/24 *Warrant Other Jurisdiction

  • Officer stopped a vehicle for an license plate violation.
  • The driver was found to have a confirmed warrant out of Harris Co. for Assault.
  • The driver was arrested and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail.

09/08/24 Amblewood Dr. *Driving While Intoxicated / Duty Striking Unattended Vehicle

  • Officer was dispatched to an accident with a parked vehicle, and the striking vehicle’s driver exited and walked away.
  • The driver returned and admitted to the accident.
  • The driver showed signs of intoxication, so SFST’s were administered, to which he did not pass successfully.
  • The suspect was detained and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail, where two breath specimens were obtained.
  • Both showed above the legal limit and were booked into the Jail.

09/09/24 W. Airport Blvd. *Possession of Controlled Substance

  • Officer stopped a vehicle for driving with a wheel missing, emitting sparks.
  • The driver was evasive in conversation, which lead to the ownership of the vehicle coming into question.
  • A search of the vehicle yielded a substance that tested positive for cocaine.
  • The driver was arrested and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail.

09/10/24 W. Airport Blvd. *Warrant Other Jurisdiction

  • Officer stopped a vehicle for a registration violation.
  • The driver was found to have a confirmed warrant out of Brazoria Co. for PCS.
  • The driver was arrested and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail.

09/17/24 W. Airport Blvd. *Warrant Other Jurisdiction

  • Officer stopped a vehicle for a registration violation.
  • The driver was found to have a confirmed warrant out of Harris County for Theft.
  • The driver was issued citations, arrested and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail.

09/17/24 S. Kirkwood Rd. *Warrant Other Jurisdiction

  • Officer stopped a vehicle for a registration violation.
  • The driver was found to have a confirmed warrant out of Harris County for Unlawful Restraint.
  • The driver was arrested and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail.

09/18/24S. Kirkwood Rd. *Evading / Possession of Controlled Substance

  • Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a Red-Light violation.
  • The vehicle refused to stop, and a short pursued ensued, that ended with the vehicle stopping at nearby Stafford apartment complex.
  • A felony stop was made, the driver was detained but refused to give a statement regarding his actions.
  • The driver was arrested and transported to the Fort Bend Co. Jail.
  • While at the jail, it was discovered that he had cocaine (positive test) on his person.
