The following was recently published and talks about the project from beginning to the present.

Kirkwood Road is a four lane concrete boulevard with four consecutive stop signs that had reached its service life and was showing signs of distress.  The City of Meadows Place selected HDR to provide a solution that delivered traffic calming improvements, increased mobility, improved safety for vehicular/pedestrian traffic, and would be fiscally sound.  HDR performed a Traffic Analysis of the area and provided recommendations to remove the roadway section and replace with a two lane roadway with four roundabouts. This recommendation accomplished the City’s objectives and provided a fiscally sound solution by reducing the amount of pavement to be replaced.  HDR then proceeded into design, bidding, and is currently nearing construction completion. The City is utilizing these roadway improvements to create a gateway into their community.
