All essential work has been completed on the Wastewater Treatment Plant Clarifier Rehabilitation Project. This project is a part of our Capital Improvement Plan.
Our wastewater treatment plant is 40 years old and needed critical repairs. This project started in 2023 with a large scope of work. It included replacing much of the equipment, including controls, traveling bridge, sensors, drive motors, slide gates, actuators and other apparatus while upgrading to a modern plant designed to provide many more years of service.
What does a clarifier do?
It acts like a giant filter. The clarifier moves across the basin and helps separate solids from the water during the treatment process. It plays an important role in making sure treated water is clean and meets environmental standards.
Total cost of this project was $3,950,000 with funds coming from City Funds and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds received by the City.
