After Alderman Isbell resigned in March, Council asked the residents of Meadows Place interested
in serving on Council to submit brief bios/ resumes for review. Council received information from
8 residents, which they narrowed down to four. After interviewing these four applicants Council
agreed to appoint David Mertins to the unexpired term of Alderman Place 1 until the election in
May 2022. At the May 25th Council meeting David Mertins was sworn in as Alderman Place 1.
David and his wife, Linda, have been residents of Meadows Place since 1985. Over the years they
have volunteered in Meadows Elementary PTO, Meadows Place Marlin’s Swim Team, and Boy
Scout Pack 301. David looks forward to serving the city in his new role as Alderman Place 1.
