National Night Out 2024

October 1, 2024

What: National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.

When: Tuesday, October 1st | 6 PM to 8 PM

Where: Neighbors get together and hold parties around our community. Along with the traditional outside lights and front porch vigils, Meadows Place celebrates National Night Out with  citywide block parties and cookouts.

Host a Party: Hosting a National Night Out party is a great way to bring neighbors together and get to know your police officers and Council Representatives. To register a National Night Out party, please contact Meadows Place PD at 281-983-2900 or email police@cityofmeadowsplace.org. This will put your party on the circuit to ensure you will receive a visit from an officer, a Councilperson, or the Mayor. Hosting a party is fun – have one!

The City of Meadows Place is set to celebrate 40 years as a city. One way we are going to mark the occasion is with a 2024 calendar, provided by the City, for each household. To make the calendar have a special Meadows Place feel, we are asking for children of Meadows Place to draw a picture of something they love about Meadows Place. We will then select pictures to fill our calendar.

It is simple; you must be no older than 18 years of age, the drawing should be orientated landscape on 8.5×11 inch paper and use vibrant colors because we will be scanning the pictures to get them into a digital format. Once submitted, we will select pictures to be included in the calendar. You can either drop your art by City Hall during business hours or scan it yourself and email it to: communications@cityofmeadowsplace.org. Please include the child’s name and age and a good parental contact. The child’s name (first name only is fine) and age will be a part of the final image in the calendar.

Deadline to submit is Friday, August 11th, 2023

Here are some ideas: parks/playgrounds, baseball fields, playing baseball, the splash pad, the community pool, Meadows Marlins, Meadows Pony League, Meadows Elementary, bike rides, family walks, picnics in the park, our police officers, city events like Christmas Memories, Fourth of July or Concerts in the Park, the lake, fishing at the lake, ducks at the lake, Scouts, little libraries, Summer Camp, life guards, the Discovery and Nature Center or a particular event or animal at the center.

We can’t wait to see how creative you get with your artwork! We know there is a lot of talent in Meadows Place.
