Over 100 people attended the 18th Annual Sugar Land Rotary Veteran’s Day Luncheon that heard Proclamations read by County Commissioner James Patterson (for Judge Hebert & Fort Bend County), Sugar Land Mayor James Thompson and Meadows Place Mayor Charles Jessup – who said he would be honored just to attend, much less speak before such an august gathering. In addition to hearing Mr. Russ Clark sing the National Anthem and God Bless America, Bush High School won the Buster Court Award (again). The veterans, guests, Rotarians and notables, including Congressman Pete Olson, heard decorated Veteran, Dr. Thomas Parr, speak of his experiences from the time he served during the 1968 Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia, Viet Nam and  Operation Desert Storm in 1991. He then thanked everyone for allowing him to be a Veteran for all that he gained from his experiences in the Armed Forces. Mayor Jessup also thanked the Rotary Club for hosting such a wonderful event and said he was thrilled to represent the City and People of Meadows Place. Rotary 4 veterans day
