Can anyone remember a summer in our area where temperatures above 100 were not forecasted. Unfortunately, every summer we hear about children and pet deaths from being left in cars. Sadly, Texas leads the nation in pediatric vehicular heatstroke deaths.

According to the National Highway Administration, a child’s body temperature raises three to five times faster than an adult.

The organization Kidsandcars.org says the U.S. averages 38 child deaths per year.

If you see a child or animal in an unattended hot vehicle, call 9-1-1. Be sure you are doing all you can to keep this from happening.
