The City of Meadows Place has closed down mobilization of First Responders and Essential Personnel. The Emergency Operations Center had been readied, high water vehicles staged, storm drains cleared, vehicles fueled, and the Emergency Operations Plan has been initiated.Chief Stewart and Essential Personnel met, then Mayor, Chief Stewart and Nick Haby monitored State and County calls regarding COVID and the storm threat. The Emergency Operations Center was ready to go live and all computer systems and generator were tested. All the vehicles and generators were topped off, just in case. Better safe than sorry and best when prepared. We even had indoor lodging for our big tortoises. The hurricane checklist was posted in several places and people urged to stay tuned to local news forecasts or plug into the National Hurricane Center on the City Facebook page and this website for latest updates. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov
