The City of Meadows Place went out for bids on the Kirkwood reconstruction project and received 8 bids –  which is a very good number.  They ranged from $3.4 million to $4.3 million. Most of the bids were fairly close together – most within a percent or two with the two low bidders very, very close.  HDR, the design engineering firm, still has to go through them to make sure all the bid items were covered, make sure there were no mathematical errors, bonding and insurance are lined up, etc.    This will take about a week to ten days. HDR will then send the City a letter of recommendation for contractor selection.

City Council passed the addendum to the Interlocal Agreement with the County and we are waiting for them to confirm.    EDC has agreed on a funding arrangement which means we are lining the pieces up nicely for the project to be a go.   After receiving the HDR recommendation, Council will discuss, and if so inclined, approve the project at a future meeting.

Thank You John Peterson (with HDR) for running the Bid Opening and to City Secretary, Courtney Rutherford, for doing all the recording
