Human Trafficking and Communities Discussion

The City of Meadows Place will be hosting a discussion this Friday focused on human trafficking and communities with special speaker Fort Bend County District Attorney, Brian Middleton. The event will be held in City Hall at 6 PM. For those who cannot attend, the event will be live streamed on our website and Facebook. We hope you can join us in person or online. Keep in mind, questions and comments will not be taken via Facebook.

YAC Beach Cleanup Day

Youth Action Council Galveston Beach Cleanup Day is happening soon and we need your help. If you are a high school student or know a high school student, register today.
The event is taking place Saturday, 9/23 in Galveston but registration is due by 9/17.
Email recreation@cityofmeadowsplace.org or text 281-642-7701 by Sunday, 9/17 to register and receive a waiver to participate. Waiver must be filled out in order to attend.

How will we get there and is there lunch? Transportation & Lunch Provided by Parks and Recreation Staff
What do you bring? Closed Toe Shoes, Sunscreen, and Towel. You may wear swimsuit under clothes.
When will we be back? We plan to be back at the Community Center by 3 PM.

  • Overnight, someone broke out the passenger side front window of resident’s truck in the driveway. Nothing was taken.
  • Ring camera showed an unknown male walking around the driveway.

  • Unknown persons entered an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot while the owner was inside the restaurant and removed a box of fireworks.

07/01/2023 Helfman Ford *Arrest

  • A person filled out paperwork to purchase a vehicle using an out-of-state driver’s license that was not his. The person falsely identified himself to officers during the investigation.
  • This person then admitted to this, was arrested, and transported to the Ft. Bend Co. Jail.
  • At the jail, his identity was established.
  • Investigation status: Cleared by Arrest.

07/12/2023 Meadow Berry Drive

  • Resident advised persons unknown used his chase bank card to withdraw money without his consent.
  • The bank has been notified.
  • Amount of loss: $314

  • A male and female entered the store, retrieved security related merchandise, and left without paying.
  • Surveillance video showed the suspects’ vehicle, enter and later leaving the parking lot. No license plate was visible.

06/30/2023 Radford Lane *Lawn Equipment

  • While a lawn crew was working at a residence, a vehicle parked nearby, and a person removed a leaf blower from the crew’s trailer and then left the area.
  • A neighbor’s video captured the theft, and the suspect vehicle’s description was obtained.
  • FLOCK captured the vehicle/license plate leaving the area.
  • Value of property: $700
  • Investigation status: Active

07/03/2023 CVS *Cosmetics

  • This offense occurred the previous day and was found by management reviewing surveillance video.
  • A male and female entered the store, retrieved many items of cosmetics, and left without paying. Suspects could not be identified from the video.
  • Property value: $511.49

07/12/2023 Northern Tool *Equipment

  • Overnight persons unknown cut through the chain link fence and removed two engines from two log splitters.
  • There is no video for this area.
  • Value of property and fence damage: $2425.30

  • A male and female entered the store and exited with cases of beer, without paying.
  • Surveillance video captured the theft and vehicle, but no license plate.

07/22/2023 Solano Court *Household Items

  • This incident stems from an on-going civil issue regarding the ownership of this residence. The person who claims to be the current owner is in the process of cleaning the house out to sell.
  • This owner claims that when the previous resident moved out, they removed several items that were not theirs. These included, but were not limited to: a gun safe, 3 rifles, a boat, a watch, a ring, a jewelry box, an iPad, a washer and dryer and video games.
  • Property value: Owner is still compiling this information.

  • The manager reported that two days prior there were two vehicles stolen from their lot.
  • The thefts were captured on surveillance video and occurred at same time by one group of persons from one vehicle. Suspects cannot be identified from the video.
  • Both vehicles were entered as stolen.

  • The vehicle was released to a licensed family member.

  • MPPD stopped a vehicle for a license plate violation.
  • A probable cause search revealed marijuana and two weapons.
  • The driver was arrested and transported to the Ft. Bend Co. Jail.
  • The vehicle was towed.

07/07/2023 @ W. Airport *possession of a controlled substance / Warrants (other jurisdiction)

  • MPPD interviewed a suspicious person sitting in the grass on the side of the road.
  • A glass pipe was found with his property, and the residue in it tested positive for Methamphetamine. The subject had warrants out of Harris Co. for burglary of a motor vehicle and Criminal Mischief, which were confirmed.
  • The subject was arrested and transported to Ft. Bend Co. Jail.

07/10/2023 W. Airport *Fail to Register as Sex Offender

  • MPPD stopped a vehicle for a registration violation.
  • It was found that the driver was a registered sex offender, who had not changed his address to his current residence.
  • The subject was arrested and transported to the Ft. Bend Co. Jail.

07/15/2023 Northern Tool *possession of a controlled substance

  • MPPD found a suspicious person behind the business.
  • Upon investigation, the subject was found to have traffic warrants out of Sugar Land PD, which were confirmed.
  • Upon search incident to arrest, substance was found that tested positive for Methamphetamine. Subject was transported to the Ft. Bend Co. Jail.
  • At the jail, another substance was found on the subject, which tested positive for Heroin.

07/18/2023 SW Freeway *Warrant (other jurisdiction)

  • MPPD stopped a vehicle for an LP violation.
  • The driver was found to have a warrant for possession of a controlled substance out of Ft. Bend Co.
  • The warrant was confirmed, and the driver was arrested and transported to the Ft. Bend Co. Jail.
  • The vehicle was released to a licensed friend.

07/18/2023 SW Freeway *Evading/Possession of Fraudulent Identification

  • MPPD was dispatched to a vehicle in moving lane with an unconscious driver.
  • Upon arrival, MPPD woke up the driver, who then drove away.
  • MPPD gave pursuit into Sugar Land, and then Stafford, where they lost sight of the vehicle.
  • Stafford PD then advised they found the vehicle unoccupied, and soon after found the passenger nearby. Stafford also advised another unit was taking a report at that time on the vehicle being stolen.
  • Subject was arrested for Evading, and Possession of Fraudulent Identification (another person’s TDL and SSN card in his possession.)
