Fishing in Meadows Place

Located at 12001 Brighton Lane

The City of Meadows Place offers fishing at the lake in Mark McGrath Park. The lake has catfish, bluegill, bass, and once a year is stocked with rainbow trout. The lake is a catch and release lake, fisherman aged 17 years or older are required by the State of Texas to have a fishing license on their person when fishing.

Rainbow Trout Fishing

Each winter from December through early March, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department stocks Rainbow Trout in more than 100 locations across Texas. 

Meadows Place proudly participates in this program. Residents are encouraged to CATCH & TAKE the trout home as they do not live past March in the warm Texas waters.  All other caught fish are required to be released back into the Lake in accordance with the city ordinance. Fisherman aged 17 years or older are required by the State of Texas to have a fishing license on their person when fishing.  Limit is usually 5 trout per person.  

A load of rainbow trout are stocking into Meadows Place lake as part of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s annual winter trout stocking program. The program, which will put almost 300,000 fish into 141 public waterways, lakes and ponds.
