Community Development Program

Meadows Place is proud to be able to offer a unique, voluntary solution to homeowners who, for any number of reasons, are unable to maintain their homes. This voluntary program is titled: Meadows Place Community Development Program (MPCDP). It was adopted unanimously by City Council and is authorized pursuant to Chapter 373 of the Texas Local Government Code entitled “Community Development in Municipalities”.

The purpose of this voluntary program is to allow the City, with funding assistance from the Meadows Place Economic Development Corporation (MPEDC) to purchase homes that have qualified, renovate and resell those homes to ensure that such homes do not become blight in the City.

The MPCDP will purchase eligible distressed properties from delinquent tax sales, foreclosed properties or at the request of eligible applicants. With support of the city and funding from MPEDC, the goals of the MPCDP are to protect and improve property values, strengthen economic health of the city and improve the quality of life for the residents and businesses of Meadows Place.
